Free fatty acids (FFA) are formed from the hydrolyisis of triglyceride ester bonds and serve as a ready energy source by binding to albumin in the bloodstream. Measurement of FFA has become an important part of monitoring various disease states including obesity, diabetes, and cancer. Cell Biolabs' Free Fatty Acid Assay Kit quantifies the FFA concentration (non-esterified) in various samples using a 96-well colorimetric plate format. It can detect FFA levels as low as 15 µM in plasma or serum samples. Each kit provides sufficient reagents for 100 assays including standards and unknown samples.

This gene encodes a member of the neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) family. This kinase is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signalling through this kinase leads to cell differentiation and may play a role in the development of proprioceptive neurons that sense body position. Mutations in this gene have been associated with medulloblastomas, secretory breast carcinomas and other cancers. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Tribioscience’s β-Glucuronidase Activity Colorimetric Assay provides a simple and sensitive method for monitoring glucuronidase activity in biological samples (tissue, cells, serum, urine). This assay uses a synthetic p- nitrophenol derivative (R-pNP) as its substrate. The substrate releases a chromophore pNP under β-Glucuronidase, which can be measured at absorbance (OD 405 nm).
